Brand Philosophy

Travel Magazine No 1

Condé Nast Traveller was first published in 1987 in the US under the slogan Truth in Travel. Its legendary founding editor Harold Evans set the new standard in travel journalism: objective, independent, based on expert evaluations and opin- ions of the most demanding clients of the travel industry. The magazine had the signature Condé Nast approach to selection of places and destinations. To be on the pages of the magazine a hotel, a ski resort, a restaurant or a spa has to be not just good, but outstanding. They must have their own unique character, capturing story, distinguished design, hip clientele and exquisite service. In one word, there must be a legend.
This approach over the years has made Condé Nast Traveller the number one travel magazine in the world. The magazine’s ratings of hotels, airlines, spas and golf resorts shape the public opinion. The annual Readers' Choice Awards is like Oscar for the travel industry.
Condé Nast Traveller is not only advising its readers on the best destinations for vacations. It promotes a certain lifestyle. This is a magazine about bringing taste to travel and living with taste. It covers not only most beautiful beaches and top resorts, but also the latest resort fashion and luggage trends, it tells you which car to rent and which watch to wear on a yacht trip, what gadgets to take with you on board and what apps to download to make your trip easy and fun.
To say that Russians love to travel is to say nothing. For them travel has become a passion and a way of life. Owners of the most luxurious hotels confess that Russians are now their most demanding and sophisticated clients. The magazine will become inspiration for those travellers – energetic, cosmopolitan, open to the world, hedonistic. Condé Nast Traveller will publish many travel stories from celebrities and socialites. Just imagine: Adrien Brody tells you about the secret bars of New York City, Natalya Vodianova takes you on a walk around London, Vincent Cassel shows the best panoramas of Paris and takes you to the farmers market in his arrondissement.
One of the regular sections will be dedicated to family travel with children – we feel that it will be in great demand. Russia is the 7th country to get Condé Nast Traveller – after the US, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Greece and India. As nowadays a whole trip can be planned with a laptop or a smartphone, Condé Nast Traveller Russia will be launched as a multimedia project: the website, iPhone and iPad applications will be launched at the same time as the magazine.
